SOCIAL CREDIT ADVISER

Mr. G.F. Powell, Social Credit adviser from London, who was imprisoned as a result of the "Bankers' Toadies" case, has been placed on parole after having served half of his six months' sentence. The order for his release does not mention the Court's recommendation that he should be deported to England.

William O'Reilly, on behalf of the National Unemployed Workers' Movement, congratulated the Government on its proposals. He suggested that the finance for the schemes should come not from the wages and salaries of workers, but from the profits of iu'dustry itself. The Committee adjourned until Monday.
