WELLINGTON GOLF CLUB
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
The annual meeting of the Wellington Golf Club was held last evening. There was a fair attendance of members considering the unfavourable weather.
The following officers were elected for the current seasqn:—President, Mr. F. S. Hodson; vice-presidents, Mr. W. A. Kiely and trie Hon. V. A. Ward; captain, Mr. J. C. Peacock; committee, Messrs. J. W. G. Brodie, W. T. Ikin, D. S. G. Marchbanks, and H. C. Morton.
The captain, in moving the adoption of the annual report and balancesheet, stated that the scheme of. improvements to the links authorised two years ago had now been completed.. The extra maintenance involved, however, together with the increasing costs of wages, material, and supplies, and the upkeep of machinery, meant considerable increase hr expenditure —hence the increase in. members' subscriptions which had been unanimously agreed upon at the recent special meeting. The contraction of the "entrance pathway, donated" by the late Mr. E. V. Riddiford, had been completed. ,- . , . \ A resolution was carried by'Scclamation thanking the retiring vice-presi-dent, Mr. S. Blackley, and members of the committee for their valuable servic.es, and also Mr. W. A. Kiely^or his close attention to the course.
