When the tail is being knitted, change from the white 3-ply to the white angora fluffy wool. To make the tail longer and narrower increase every other row, first at each end, knitting with a size finer needles, until the length equals the length given for leg. Cast off. To Make Up.—Begin by sewing up above the top of the front legs, over the chest, over the head, along the back an round the tail. Leave an opening in this seam for stuffing. If the tail is wide it can now be sewn in to narrow it sufficiently to enable tWe toy to be grasped and easily held by the baby. The baby's likes and dislikes in this respect are known. The easily-grab-bed and held toy is their favourite. Now sew in the under part, fitting legs to legs, the point started with 2 sts. towards the back. Stuff with kapok, pressing that well into the legs and tail with the rounded end of knitting needle, making them very firm. Sew on the ears by the wider portion to the top and back of head about half an inch apart, letting the points fall loosely. Make a circle of pink wool for the eyes and with the black silk stitch in the pupils, leaving a thin circle of pink showing. Make a line.of pink stitching for the mouth and half an inch above make small triangular stitchery in vertical lines to represent the nose. Use a brush to the ears and tail to fluff the mouth. A blue ribbon around the neck completes the pet lamb.
