A WEEK OF ENTERTAINING
(From "The Post's" Representative.) I ■: . NELSON, April 7. ' j Mrs. H. V. Searle gave an enjoyable bridge party recently, the guests including Mesdames Kerridge, R. Stedman, J. Williams, Chaili.es, and Miss B. Easterfield.-: .'.".''. Morning Tea. Mrs. W. C. Harley was hostess at a very pleasant tea' given at her house. Some of those present were Mrs. and | Miss Easterfield, Mrs. H. Topliss, Mrs. J. Williams, and Mrs. Caselberg. Bridge Party. . Another enjoyable bridge party was given last week by Mrs. H. S. Robison. Among the guests were Mrs. Shakerley (England), Mrs. R. H. Davies, Mrs. J. Williams, Mrs. S. A. Gibbs, Mrs. E. B. Izard, and Miss E. Davies. Sherry Parties. . Mrs. P. B. Adams, with whom Mr. and Mrs. Noel Adams (Auckland) are at present staying, entertained at her house yesterday evening a few friends, among whom were Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Robison, Dr: and Mrs. S. A. Gibbs, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Izard, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Broad, Mrs. Wardell. An enjoyable party combined with very attractive surroundings makes, an hour a delightful interlude. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Broad entertained at their home at the Port in honour of Mrs. Wardell (Masterton), who is staying with them. Among those who were present were Dr. and Mrs. F. A. Bett, Mr. and 'Mrs. C. R. Fell, Mr. and Mrs. A. Leggatt, Mr. and Mrs. T. Maunsell, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Cock, Misses Maginnity, Gray, Moore, Davies, Andrew, Laing, and Mr. A. Wardell. Yet another "five o'clock" this week was given by Mr. and Mrs. Evan Leggatt. The afternoon was very hot, and the guests eagerly sought the coolness of the porch. Some of the guests were Mr. and Mrs. H. Russell (Christchurch), Mr. and Mrs. H. Leggatt, Mr. and Mrs. B. Beattie, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Broad, Misses Gray, Lucas, Davies, andi Hayes. Personals. Miss Rona Oldham, granddaughter of Mr. John Oldham, was married last week to Mr. J. King. Mr. and Mrs. King are spending a few weeks in the south before returning to this district. Mrs, A. Hill, Sydney, who leaves for Australia next week, is visiting Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Leggatt left at the beginning of the week for Rotorua, where they will spend some weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Russell, Christchurch, have.taken their house in Richmond Avenue.
