NORTHERN MAORI SEAT
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, April 7,
An announcement was made by Mr. Tau Henare, sitting member for the Northern Maori electorate, at a meeting at Waima, Hokianga, that he would again be a candidate for the seat at the forthcoming General Election. The meeting was attended by representatives of all sections of the electorate, and matters of political interest were discussed. Mr. Henare, who has represented the Northern Maori district in Parliament since 1914, has been indisposed, and there was some doubt as to whether he would be willing to seek re-election, but he set these doubts at rest and, in assuring the gathering of his desire to go on, said: "My heart is as stout as the rock of Gibraltar."
