CONFERENCE IN PARIS AGREES
YALTJE OF PACTS
EASTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES
(United Press Association—By Electric

PARIS, April 6.
It is stated that at the conference i of French diplomatic representatives called by the Foreign Minister it was proved that the time is ripe for negotiations between Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, and Rumania for the purpose of checking Hitlerism in Eastern Europe. The conference has re-established Czechoslovakia's confidence and has also led to appreciation of the value of following up the AngloItalian agreement with an Italo,French rapprochement. A Paris cable published yesterday stated that for the purpose of discussing the strengthening of France's influence in Eastern Europe, and to offset future German moves, the Foreign Minister, M. Paul-Boncour. had summoned a conference of French diplomatic representatives in Germany, Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Rumania. Considerable importance, it was stated, was attached to the conference, concerning which "L'Oeuvre" said: "France's initiative has already produced an excellent impression in the Balkans, which is welcoming the rejuvenation of French foreign policy. Various recent signs of opposition to Hitlerism have shown the correctness of M. Paul-Boncour's opinion that France could regain the upper hand. Hungary's decision to resist German influence is significant."
