OUR VALLA A STAYER
Our Walla, who arrived from Australia on Tuesday to compete at the Inter-Dominion Championships, has some fine performances to his credit across the Tasman. .After finishing second to Lawn Derby in the Championship Trial at Ascot on March 21, he came out later, in the day, and, although conceding starts up to 54yds in the Richmond Handicap, two miles, outstayed the field, and covered the distance in 4min 38sec, after being backed down to a short price. He will be driven in the championships at Addington by G. Gath, one of the leading reinsmen in Victoria.
Betting will be on the win-and-place system at both New Plymouth and Ashburton on Saturday.
