Mr. Cecil W. Wood, Christchurch, architect for the new Anglican. Cathedral in Wellington, left by the Rangitata this morning for a visit to Europe and the United States in order to study the latest developments in ecclesiastical architecture.
Mr. W. A. Sutherland, the secretary of the Automobile Association, Wellington, was welcomed back by the chairman (Mr. E. A. Batt) at last night's meeting of the association. A special meeting is to be called to deal with his report on his investigations of motoring conditions abroad. Mr. Sutherland gave a preliminary resume of his personal experiences in England and America.
Mr. J. Meltzer was last night elected chairman of the management committee of the Wellington Football Association. Mr. J. J. Kean was elected vice-chairman. *
Mr. C. B. O'Donnell, of Wellington, who will leave for England from Auckland on April 19, entertained a large, number of friends at dinner and the theatre this week. Mr. O'Donnell expects to be absent eleven months and will travel by way of Canada and America, accompanied by his wife.
