In a boxing contest in the Town Hall tonight, Stan Jenkin, New Zealand welterweight champion (Oamaru) gained a decision over Les Adams (Ashburton),
The bout was of 12 rounds, and the decision met with the^ disapproval of a large section of the. big house. Giving away height and reach, Adams 'fought close up to his man, and appeared to gain a margin of points in a majority of rounds.
