PAEKAKARIKI CLUB

The Paekakariki Golf' Club held its opening day last Sunday, the president, Mr. O. G. Kember, declaring the season open. A mixed Canadian foursome was played over nine holes and resulted in a win for Miss Joyce Smith and Mr. X H. Kember, who returned a card of 35, 4-31. Other good cards were as follows:— Mrs. 'Munt and H. Holtom, 44 10— 34; Mrs. Marshall and F. C. McNeil, 42, 7—35; Mrs. F. Smith and J. Hanratty, 42, 9—33; Mr. and Mrs. Gunn, 44 8—36; Miss J. Page and N. Ewart, 43, 7—36. Trophies were presented by the president. . The links were in first-class order and members look forward with keen anticipation to playing over the new lay-out of twelve holes next weekend.
