HATAITAI CLUB
Hataitai's season closed oh Saturday with the match North'v. South, which
was won by the former. All club competitions were completed last week. The McKenzie Cup was won by Charters, who beat Reed in a close game. The two-bowl pairs winners were John Dunlop and Peter McWhanneJl (s), the runners-up being Reed and Duncan. The semi-final between the McWhan-nell-Urquhart pair afforded the "bank" a good deal of amusement. Although darkness fell at the fifteenth head it was decided to finish the game. A certain amount of "slow motion," a few dead heads, and "wrong biases," a disputed head, and finally an extra head, carried matters on until 7.40 p.m., when McWhannell won the match by driving off a bowl which he could not see.
