• LONDON, March 16. Miss Jean Batten returned this week from Scandinavia, where she delivered a number of lectures under the auspices of the British Council, for whom Sir Robert Vansittart, officer in charge of British propaganda abroad, arranged the tour. All Miss Batten's expenses were paid, but she did not benefit financially from her lectures.

The British Consul received Miss Batten' at Stockholm and a reception in her honour was given at the British Legation. She gave her first lecture to a crowded audience in the Stockholm Town Hall under the auspices of the Swedish British Society and the Royal Swedish Aero Club. At theclose of her talk, she was presented with the gold medal of-the Royal Swedish Aero Club by Prince Gustaf Adolf. After lecturing at Guttenburg, Miss
