PHILARIO'S BRIGHT FUTURE
' Few more promising young stayers have been seen out this season than Philario, a member of M. B. Edwards's stable at Yaldhurst: He was tried over two miles for the first time at Awapuni on Saturday, and it was really impressive to see him outstaying more seasoned horses at the end of the journey. .\He "was forced to" coyer a little extra ground on the outside of two horses over the final couple of furlongs, but this did not prevent him from finishings full of running. Philario has done a good deal of racing this season, but has been a most consistent performer, his victory on Saturday being his fourth since January 29. M. B. Edwards has been very patient with the son of Jack Potts, and the policy is likely to bear fruit in the future. ■
