APPLES IN LONDON

NEW SEASON'S ARRIVALS

(From "The Post's" Representative.)

LONDON, March 16.

The first shipment of new season New Zealand apples reached London this weekend met with a reasonable demand. Market conditions generally were not strong owing to competition of other fruits and the low price of increasing quantities of American apples and pears. The London season for American and Canadian apples, now drawing to a close, has been remarkable for extremely low prices. Quantities that remain in store are far in excess of those in recent years. As a result, it is likely that there willTaea carryover of American apples in London far into the New Zealand and Australian season, so that the immediate outlook is not encouraging.
