The Waihi correspondent of the "New Zealand Herald" reports that the Golden Dawn Mine, and battery at O,wharoa closed down on Thursday, pending the completion of: negotiations with the Government on the proposal of the loan of £4000 to enable the company to continue mining operations. \- About 30 men are involved. I
