DISPUTE SETTLED

HASTINGS, This Day.
Settlement has been reached in the industrial dispute over the Ngaruroro Biver flood control scheme and there is every possibility that work will be recommenced tomorrow morning. The men this morning signified their willingness to'return to work under the contract system and the actual recommencement of the job is dependent only upon the assembling of teams and the coming to some arrangement with drivers and team-owners.
The settlement was the result of a conference held at the scene of the job at Pakowhai this morning, when some 60 men concerned in the holdup of work met the chairman of the board and the engineer.
