NORTHERN ROLLER MILLS
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. ; The report to be presented at the annual meeting of the' Northern Roller Mills shows a net profit for the year ended February 28 of £19,859, compared with £11,793 the previous year and £32,567 in 1935-36. A dividend on ordinary shares is recommended at" 3J per cent., a reduction of one--half per cent.
The directors state: —"This • completes the second year of Government control. While the result cannot by any means be called satisfactory, it is much better than the previous twelve months. The better result has been brought about mainly by the Government giving all the mills an increased allowance for gristing. The final result shows barely 3£ per cent, on our ordinary share capital. We are hoping, however, that now we can show the Government that the present allowance for gristing does not allow of more than 3£ per cent, to be made, we may be able to induce them to give further help, so that a fair rate of interest may be earned for the future."
