EAST HARBOUR SOCIETY 2
A meeting of over 70 persons held in St. Alban's schoolroom, Eastbourne, last evening, decided to'form, {m East Harbour Horticultural Society., -'Mrs. Knox Giimer presided. * ' s The subscription was fixed at 2s Id for adults and Is for children ag^d sixteen and under. Officers were elected as follows^Patron, Mrs. Knox Giimer; president, Mr. E. H. Anderson; vice-presidents, Miss M. Magill, Miss M. Cooper, the Mayor (Mr. E. W. Wise), Messrs.-J. W. Heenan, D. Bowie, A. Walker, A. Atkinson, C. Childs, T. Pilcher, and J. B. Finlay; honorary secretarytreasurer, Miss M. Wood, F.C.S. (N.?,); assistant, Miss V. Shortt; committee, Mrs. A. P. Bennett, Mrs. Hertzog, MissB. King, Miss M. E. Greenwood, Mrs, Neylon Butler, Mr. and Mrs. W. -F. Hornig, Mr., and Mrs. E. J. Righton. Mrs. J. B. Yaldwyn, Messrs. W.-J. Millen, J.. Battersby* J. Torlesse, W. Hutchings, J. Bennett, and Langford. Miss Wood was thanked for the part she had taken in the inaugural work of ftie new society. • Mrs. Knox Giimer said it had been, one of her dearest wishes that a horticultural • society should be formed m Eastbourne. She would' give the n'e|w society all the help she: could.! ■ The Eastbourne Borough Council was :to be .congratulated on the planting ;it had\done in the streets.
