IMPRESSIVE CEREMONY

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, This Day.

Clad in coarse, brown serge habits and heavily veiled, nine sisters entered the chapel of the Carmelite Monastery, Mount Roskill, yesterday, and knelt at the altar rail. Bishop Liston then handed the key to the Mo.ther Superior, who closed1 the door of the monastery and locked it from.the inside.

This was the impressive part of the ceremony at which1 Bishop Liston enclosed the Carmelite Sisters and blessed the convent building and the chapel. The Sisters have devoted themselves. to a livetime' of seclusion, contemplation, and prayer. . ' " ' ,
