EXCHANGE CLUB

A particularly enjoyable evening was spent in the New1 Zealand Educational Institute room recently when the Exchange Club entertained seven, overseas teachers who have come to spend a year in New Zealand. The. guests, who were cordially welcomed by Miss Moira Gallagher, were Misses M. Bowles^ D. Caldecourt, E. Marriott, S. Lewis, and Mr., F. ,A. Holmes (England), and Misses M. Jones and "M. Hansen (Australia). They all are looking forward with pleasure to their stay, and expressed a warm appreciation of the welcome extended to them.

Mrs. Donaldson explained the objects of the club, every member' of which has taught at least a year abroad in England, Canada, South Africa, or Australia. She then introduced Mr. and" Mrs. Britton, who have just returned from a two years' sojourn in England. Mr. Britton'gave some interesting ' and amusing snapshot accounts of his experiences both in England and on the Continent.

Beautiful singing was a feature of the evening, the performers being Misses J. Combs and M. Davies and Mr. T. G. Hislop and Dr. Fieldhouse. Mjss Griffin played the accompaniments. '
