A series of shallow westerly, depressions has continued to cross the Tasman Sea and southern New Zealand. Consequently, northerly to. westerly winds have prevailed, moderate mainly in force, but strong and squally at times in exposed positions, especially about and south of Cook Strait. Tho weather has been mostly fair on the east coast of the South Island, but otherwise it has been changeable with intermittent rain in most districs. During Saturday thunderstorms were experienced In various parts of the Xorth Island and conditions have been warm and humid generally. TODAY'S WEATHER.
