DARWIN "MYSTERY PLANES"
((Received February 14, 2 p.m.) * DARWIN, This Day. The Administrator, the Hon. C. L. Abbot, in a special report to the Air Board, definitely discounts the story that "mystery planes" flew over Darwin. ■ v His opinion is shared by the Commander of Coast Defences and the District Naval Officer. A message from Darwin on February 9 stated that unidentified aeroplanes had down over Darwin twice within the past week, and the aviation authorities were puzzled about their origin and destination.. All movements. of machines in the territory had been checked, and the strange planes could not be accounted for.
