ATHLETES' BOYCOTT
JAPAN AND OLYMPIC GAMES
(Received February 12, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, February 11. The impression is growing in. athletic circles that Japan will waive her claim to the 1940 Olympic Games in favour of England.' . Mr. H. F. Fash, a member of the executive committee of the Amateur Athletic Association, in a speech at Chelmsford declared that the association was unanimous that if the 1940 Olympic Games were held at Tokio they should not receive the support of British competitors. , "This would mean," said Mr. Pash, "that the United States and others would follow Britain's lead. It is not a question of politics • but ■ a matter of humanity and fair, play, and fair play is the foundation of sp°rt."
