HIGH GLEE DISAPPOINTS
- High Glee, who was sent out favourite for the Dunedin Cup at Wingatui on Thursday, is a light-actioned galloper who has shaped like a stayer, although, like so many of the Paladins, he carries his head rather high to be absolutely convincing in this respect. It was as a result of a gallop at Wingatui on Tuesday morning that he came so much into favour, but he rather let his host of backers down on the day. He is bred to stay, for he is out of the useful race mare Real Glad, who was by Gay Lad from Honesty, a Martian mare whose dam was The Officer mare Success, who traces back to imported Hammock (by Orest). The bestknown members from Success arid Honesty are Kilwinning, a winner, of the Great Northern Derby, and Killovven.'a winner of the Winter Cup. However, several of the progeny of both mares were mediocre. Honesty's best win was in the1 Invercargill Cup. ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS. "P.A.M."—In his latest outing Meadow King was raced from J. Bryce s stable, but he still ran in the interests of C. Moran.
