GARDEN PARTY

(From "The Post's" Representative.) WANGANUI, February 11. A pleasant afternoon was spent in ! Mrs. Susan Scott's shady garden on , Thursday, when members of the ■ Wanganui branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union, held its annual garden party. Stalls were arranged under the trees, and business was brisk. Among the many noticed ! were Mesdames J. C. Wickham, A. H. • McLean, J. Brookfield, A. McNab, R. ' Mitchell, L. Willis, G. A large gathering at Rangiwahia people assembled recently to honour the coming marriage of two popular young people of the district, Miss Grace Beilski and Mr. Humphrey Meads. Their many friends presented them with a splendid assortment of household goods. The evening's entertainment took the form of a dance. Weddinjr. A wedding was solemnised at' the Westmere Church by the Rev. A. H. Norrie on Saturday evening, when Molly, elder daughter of Mrs. E. Hall and the late' Mr. W. Hall, was married to Mr. Charles Young, Wanganui. The bride, who entered the church with Mr. J. Hill, wore a frock of blue embroidered net over taffeta, and a small Juliet cap of blue flowers. She carried a sheaf bouquet of pink carnations, rosebuds, and dahlias. Her sister, Miss Dorothy Hall, was bridesmaid, wearing a white organdie English model frock patterned in blue and green checks and a Juliet cap to "match, and carried a sheaf in deeper tones of pink. Mr. J. Irwin was best man. The reception was held at Mr, and Mrs. J. Hill's home, which was beautifully adorned with hydrangeas of varying hue. Mrs. Hall wore a smart black and white frock with small hat, and white fur cape, and carried a bouquet in gold toning. Mr. and Mrs. Young will reside at Wanganui. Personals. Mrs. Cunningham, Perth, who is visiting her sister, Mrs. C. Mullins, of Brunswick will leave on Monday for Rotorua and the north accompanied by her nieces, the Misses Wilson, Marton. Miss Joan Gardiner is accompanying her father during a tour of the Southern Lakes, Christchurch, and Dunedin. Mr. and Mrs. F. Nancarrow have returned from a visit to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Knowles, Wellington, are visiting Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Scoular have returned to Durie Hill, from a camping holiday in the north. ■ Mr. and Mrs. J. Marsh, Fordell, are visiting Otaki. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Fisher, Blenheim, are visiting Wanganui.
