KING'S PRIZE MATCH
SYDNEY, February 11
At the rifle-shooting anniversary meeting the King's Prize was won by a Queensland farmer, V. Buttsworth, with a score of 347. Corporal Hoddle (England), who led in the early stages, was unplaced. Fourteen hundred marksmen from all parts'of the Empire took part. Second and third places were filled by the Victorian, G. W. Letts, and by G. Gall, of Queensland.
Buttsworth's score of 347 was an Australian record. The possible was 355. Buttsworth won £500 and other trophies.
In the Melbourne match of ten shots at 600 yards, Masefield, Jeune, and Spry, each with 49, won • £1. Croxton, Solnr, Wrigley, Russell, and Smith, with 48, and West and Jones, with 47, won 10s.
In the Sydney match of ten shots nt 800 yards, Feist, Russell, Nicholls, Bowes, Wrigley, and Purvis,-each 49, won 10s.
In Fisher's Phospherine match of ten shots at 900 yards, James and Donald, with 49, won £1, and Hunt, Masefield, Symons, Wilton, and Farley with 47, won 10s.
