WARM TEMPERATURES
"Special foracastfor Wellington:— i Light to moderate and' variable 1 winds, with north-easterlies pre- • dominating. Weather fair to cloudy and warm. The general forecast for the Dominion as a whole .issued at noon today for the ensuing.twenty-four hour?, is for easterly to north-easterly winds prevailing. These will be strong in exposed positions north of Kawhia and East Cape, but elsewhere they will be mainly light to moderate in force. The weather for the most part will be fair to cloudy,, but with scattered rain in the Auckland Province and with morning fogs in many places. Temperatures will be warm. There has been little change since yesterday in pressure distribution, the anticyclone covering the New Zealand area still being centred, to the east of 'the South Island, while pressure is rather low to the north anH also over most of Australia and the western Tasman Sea. Although cloud was more in evidence this morning, the weather in most districts has continued fine with warm temperatures. In the Auckland Province, however, further light, rains have fallen in scattered places. Winds from some easterly quarter have been mainly light to moderate in force, but in places in the'northern half of the North Island" they have been strong. . . Although rather cloudy, Auckland s weather yesterday was fair and warm, a fresh wind blowing from the east or north-east. The maximum temperature was ' 75.1 degrees and the minimum165.6. A't 9 a.m. today it was overcast. Wellington again had a warm and sunny day with a light southerly breeze. Hours of bright sunshine totalled 13.4, and the maximum and minimum temperatures were 72.5 and 55.9 degrees respectively. In Christchurch also it was fine and sunny, a fresh wind blowing .from the north-east. The maximum temperature was 69.6 degrees and the minimum 501 degrees. At 9 a.m. today it was overcast with a light wind from the north-east. ~ . . Dunedin had continuous bright sunshine yesterday, with a . light northeasterly breeze. It was cloudy there this morning and a gentle northerly wind was blowing.
