The new technique will be used, in the. recording of Miss Durban's song, "Chapel Bells," in which numerous sets of chimes will furnish the musical background. "Heretofore it* has been the practice to attempt to give the effect of distance by diminishing the volume of the recorded sound," Tasker said. "This did not give tha desired tonal result. "In /Mad About Music' we will record perspectively by setting- up our recorder at , the true distance from the source of sound. Portions of the chimes effects for the Chapel' number will be recorded at night, three miles ■-. from the chimes themeelvea."
