INSTRUCTION IN HOME SCIENCE
A full programme has been arranged in . Canterbury this week ■ for Professor Ann G. Strong, Dean of-the Faculty of Home Science at Otago University, who with Dr. Elizabeth Gregory, director of the chemistry department of the Home Science School, and Miss V. Macmillan, of the Association for Country Education, is visiting Christchurch, says the Christchurch "Press." ■ The object of their visit is to make known more. widely the scope of the work undertaken by the Home Science Faculty'.and to discuss the .possibilities of a more intimate connection between the school and the community, to their mutual advantage/ ' .Professor Strong and party's programme included a.public meeting on Monday night in the Jellicoe Hall; an address by Professor Strong at yesterday's, Rotary Club luncheon; a reception in their honour at Beath's yesterday afternoon by the, Victoria League; and a tea party, arranged by the Home Science students, at Beath's today., This evening Professor Strong will address a meeting of the Progress League. ■ In addition, the visitors will speak at a public meeting to be held at Rangiora tomorrow evening. On Friday Professor Strong will continue her journey north to Wellington, Palmerston North, New Plymouth, and Masterton.
