AVERAGE OF £7'13'2 A WEEK
Shipping "companies in;Wellington'' today paid out. £11,783 in wages to \ waterside workers employed by them during the past week. This is the biggest payntent that has been made' since 1914, the previous highest figure, being £9213, paid out in March of last number of men participating in today's payment was, 1538, and the average weekly wage worked out at £7 13s 2d.
