VISIT OF FRENCH CRUISER
Arrangements 'and plans for the encrtainmcnl of the personnel of the "rench cruiser Jeanne D'Arc were disussecl at yesterday afternoon's meetng of the Wellington branch of the Javy League. A letter was received from Colonel (. St. J. Bccre, Consular Agent for "ranee at Wellington, stating that the miser was arriving at Wellington on 'ebruary 20, and leaving on February 5. Her staff and personnel would omprise 27 officers. 11!) midshipmen, nd 555 petty officers and men. He ■ked if the Navy League could supply ry assistance in the entertaining of he ship's company. It was decided '.o appoint a subommittee consisting of Captain A. V. I. Hale-Monro, and the secretary Mr. t. Darroch, to meet other bodies in Vellington with a view to making suitble entertainment arrangements. Mr. Darrocl-u,, announced that, the oming conference of branches of the [■ague was to be held on February 16 n Wellington. There would be repreentatives from Canterbury, Otago, and Auckland, to meet the Wellington reiresenlatives, he said.
