GENERAL ELECTION
LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATES
The national executive of the New Zealand Labour Party announces that the following sitting members of Parliament, having been unanimously approved by the members of the party in the electorates concerned, will contest the General Election as official Labour candidates: —Messrs. John Robertson (Masterton), A. Gordon Hultquist (Bay of Plenty), J. B. Cotterill (Wanganui). The national executive announces that Mr. James A. Kearton, farmer, of Waimate, whose nomination has been approved by the affiliated organisations in the electorate, has. been chosen to contest the Temuka seat at the General Election. Mr. Kearton was born in England in 1894 and came to New Zealand in 1911, where he engaged in farm work and later in public works construction. He served during the war with the 7th reinforcement. Invalided home in 1917, he joined the staff of the Bank of New Zealand, leaving in 1920 to take up farming in the W'.imate district.
