The Minister of Finance (the Hon. W. Nash) will leave Wellington tomorrow morning for' Napier, and on Monday will discuss with' the" local bodies concerned the question of the repayment of Hawke's Bay earthquake loans. From Hawke's Bay the Minister will proceed to the Waikato. On February 7 he will meet a gathering of dairy farmers at Hamilton, and on the following day, he is to attend a similar meeting atMOrrinsville.cMr.Naslt expects to return to Wellington on; February 9. .'•'..■' ... ..

The resignation of Mr. W. Holloway, from the position of Assistant Town Clerk- was received at the meeting of the Eastbourne. Borough Council last evening. Mr. Holloway has been"appointed Town Clerk af Talhape.' THa Mayor (Mr! E. W. Wise): said that the council had lost a valuable officer in" Mr. Holloway, but Ait could :nbt object to his advancement. It was decided to send a letter to Mr. Holloway congratulating him on. his appointment and expressing' appreciation ■. of his services. '
