GENERAL SHOT
PENALTY FOR WEAK RESISTANCE
(Received January 25, 1.30 p.m.)
HANKOW, January 24. General Han Fu-chu was executed for weak resistance in Shantung.
After hearing the War Minister, Ho Ying-chin, pronounce the death sen-
tence in words he himself had often uttered, he stood up to the firing squad in a sleety drizzle and unshakenly faced his end. In accordance with immemorial Chinese usage, the most expensive coffin procurable awaited the corpse.
