INFLUENCE OF FRANCO
Since General Franco has been in command of the Bilbao district, conditions have taken a turn for the better, said Mr. C. V. Martyn, a member of the firm of Martyn arid Martyn and Co., of Bilbao and Cardiff, who arrived in Wellington by the Remuera this morning. The firm, he stated, owned a number of ore mines in that district, but since the war in Spain they have all been closed. There were no fatalities among the officers of the mines.
