FEW ACCIDENTS
HENDON AIR DISPLAYS
(British Official Wireless.) (Received January 22, noon.)
RUGBY, January 21,
The Royal Air Force displays at Hendon, the discontinuance of which has been announced, had an extraordinary record of success. Only one airman met his death during the 18 years since their inception, and no spectator has ever been seriously hurt.
The Air Force charities, which benefited annually by many thousands of pounds from the display, are unlikely to suffer, >as they will receive contributions from the Empire Air Day displays. The, Empire Air Day attendance throughout England in 1937 totalled 345,000.
