(Received January 22, 2 p.m.) " LONDON, January 21.. Colourless conditions prevailed on the Stock Exchange markets, business subsiding owing to the French situation. The undertone, however, was satisfactory. Gilt-edged stocks wera quietly firm. New Zealand stocks were slightly better among the Dominion issues.
