MATTSON CASE RECALLED

It is learned that Muriel and William Mattson, elder children of Dr. Mattson, a prominent surgeon of Tacoma, Washington/ viewed Peter;Anders, tha man who was arrested on the Santa Anita racecourse and who confessed to kidnapping and murdering Charles Ross on October 17. Federal agents refused to state whether the children identified Anders as the man responsible for kidnapping their young ! brother Charles, whose body, with the I head crushed by a heavy blow,* was found in January, 1937. • , The newspaper "Call-Bulletin," San Francisco, publishes an unconfirmed report that \the children failed to identify Anders. / Dr. Mattson later confirmed the report that the children failed to identify; G-men have recovered an additional 30,000 dollars of the. Ross ransom. Anders admitted that he kidnapped John and Oliva Borgia, of Chicago, on September 2, but released the former immediately and freed Oliva within two days. '
