WEDDING
HASSELL-^HOWARD,
The marriage took place at the Presbyterian Church,- Island Bay, recently of Lenora Grace, younger daughter of Mr arid Mrs. L.W. Howard, Island Bay, and Stanley Vincent, second son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Hassell,-Berham-pore. The Rev. P. Wainwright performed the ceremony, and Mr. A. Dellow was the' organist. Christmas lilies, gladioli, and pink and blue hydrangeas had .been effectively arranged in the church.. The bride, who. was escorted by her father, wore a frock of magnolia satin. The bodice was fashioned on classical lines and was cut with a peaked neckline caught by a spray of orange blossom..' The back, and long, tight-fitting pointed sleeves were trimmed with small buttons, while the skirt fell gracefully. into a. long oval train. The embroidered veil was lent by the bride's sister, Mrs. A. O'Kane, and was held in place by a-coronet of orange blossom. Her bouquet; was of roses, carnations, and maidenhair fern. She was attended by Miss Audrey Ambrose, Miss Shirley Hassell, and Miss Betty Fife,; (Dannevirke). The attendants wore. charming frocks of sunrise,' pink with coronets ■of silver leaves and velvet flowers. All carried bouquets of roses, carnations, and maidenhair fern tied with silver ribbon. . '
Mr. C. Hassell was' best man-, and Messrs. R. Gibbs and L. Hassell were groomsmen. Mrs. Kilminister presented the bride with a silver horseshoe as she was leaving ;the church.
. A reception was held in-the Masonic Hall, Berhampore, where the. guests were received by Mrs. Howard, who wore a navy blue and white frock: with plain navy coat' arid hat to match.; She -carried a bouquet of red roses.; Mrs. Hassell wore, a navy, and, white ensemble with navy, and white hat to match.. She carried a bouquet of red roses. ' ':.
■Many lucky people found crystalfob watches in the parcels they.opened on Christmas Day. These- are very- fashionable in, London at the moment, combining ornament with utility. _ '
