His headmastership at Upper Hutt was his last post; he retired from the teaching, service. there' and went to Hastings. ' ; Members of Mr. Bennett's family also have won distinction in sports circles. A son, Mr. H. Bennett, and a daughter, Miss H. Bennett (now the wife of Mr. L. A. Tracy, a former Australasian athletic champion), were regular, and prominent competitors at athletic meetings in Wellington a few years back.
