EFFORT IN FRANCE
PREMIER CALLS CONFERENCE
LONDON, January 9.
The Prime Minister of France (M. Chautemps) has invited representatives of big and small employers, technicians, and the workmen's confederation to meet at his office on January 12 in an effort to promote industrial peace. Public opinion welcomes the invitation as a statesmanlike and constructive attempt to clear the atmosphere of bitterness and recrimination, states the Paris correspondent of "The Times."
