£50,000,000 LOAN
IF PROPAGANDA CEASES
LONDON, January 9,
The "Sunday Graphic" reports that Britain is to open negotiations shortly for a trade treaty with Signor Mussolini, and is prepared to lend £50,000,000 provided II Duce keeps the peace and abandons his anti-British propaganda. It is hoped to divert trade from Germany and secure a British shipping monopoly on Empire routes where Italians are competing.
