ATHLETES TO COMPETE AT
HUTT
In order to give Wellington sports enthusiasts an opportunity of seeing in action before they leave for Sydney members of the New Zealand team for the British Empire Games; the Lower Hutt Amateur Athletic Club hag arranged to hold a special meeting under electric light on the Lower Hutt Recreation Ground -on- January ■■-. 19, -at 8 p.m. Among the athletes Selected for. the trip .to Sydney- who. have intimated their intention of competing at. Hie meeting are V; P. Boot (Canterbury), G. Quinn (Hawke's Bay), J. Leckie (Auckland). P. F. Sharpley (Hawke's Bay), A. R. Geddes (Otago), Miss Strachan (Canterbury). Miss Tong (Hawke's Bay). W. A. C. Pullar (Olago), and T. Allen (Otago). In addition to the athletes it is hoped, that the "Empire Games cyclists, will also be able to compete at the meeting. ' . The New Zealand team is to leave for Sydney the following day.
