PRINCE "BIRA" OF SIAM
ENCAGED TO ENGLISH GIRL

LONDON, December 1
The versatile Prince Birabongse of Siam, who has achieved prominence both as a racing motor driver and a sculptor, has become engaged to Miss Ceril Heycock, a 21-year-old art "student, daughter of Lieut.-Colonel and Mrs. P. R. Heycock, of London.
The Prince recently left on a visit to Siam, and: Miss Heycock has recently received a cable advising her that the necessary consent to their marriage . has . been obtained. ftliss Heycock sat for Prince Birabongsei for a sculptured head which he had accepted by the Royal Academy this year. She ,has known him for some years. He was at Eton i with her brother.
For several years the Prince, who races under the name;of'B. Bira,'has been among the most successful racing drivers in Britain, and has., many notable wins to his credit. His racing in the coming year •is . likely •to be interfered with, however, as his licence is at present suspended for a motoring offence.' Racing bodies do not as a rule permit drivers to compete if they have not a road licence. Miss Heycock says, however, that, she will not try to make him give up the sport. ' ,■ .
