Australia beat England in the Rugby League Test by 13 points to 3. Tha weather was dull.
England opened with a desperate attack and kept Australia on the defensive, but frequent penalties afforded the defenders relief. The Australian backs worked well and made several splendid efforts, but could not finish off the movements. Then Norval, with, a quick follow-up, secured possession. He carried a tackier over and scored. Beaton converted. A good passing movement enabled Reardon to score an unconverted try in the corner.
England took a turn in/the attack and Hudson scored in the corner, but the try was not convertedi A penalty goal by Beaton made the half-time score 10-3 in favour of Australia.
England rallied desperately in the second spell and the game at times was rugged. England outplayed Australia in the scrummages, but the visitors excelled in the loose. Narvo scored in the corner, the try being unconverted, and the .game ended in victory for Australia. ' i
