PARIS, December 19.
Mile. Maryse Hilsz has left Istres for Basra in an attempt to beat the late Mrs. Amelia Earhart Putnam's longdistance flight record for women
In 1935 the late Mrs. Putnam, who was lost in the Pacific last July while attempting a round-the-world flight, made the first solo flight across the Pacific, from Honolulu to Oakland, a distance of 2408 miles,, in 18hr 17min.
