PLUNKET SHIELD.
WELLINGTON'S TEAM
In the first of its Plunket Shield matches this season Wellingtonl will have a side differing greatly from those which met engagements with 'Other provinces last season. In addition-to the fact that Moloney, Blundell, Parsloe, and Ashenden are not available, there are some notable omissions of players who on form and experience were expected to be in the side. Coltman and McLeod have been amongst the most successful batsmen in club matches this season, and O'Neill has been one of the outstanding performers with the ball. These players, along with some notable performers in the country districts, O'Brien and Massey to.mention two, are to be counted unlucky in not finding places in a side which does no^ represent Wellington's full strength, though it has distinct possibilities.
The selector (Mr. A.: W.. Duncan) has made his choice^ as follows 'for the match with Canterbury, to be-played at the Basin Reserve commencing on December 31:—
H. F. Rice (Kilbirnie). E. W. Tindill (Midland). J. EH,(Wellington). M. P. Donnelly (Taranaki)
J. R. Lamason (Well. Coll. 0.8..) W. G Bain (Kflbirnie). S, Ward (Kitt>irnie). N. Gallichan (Manawatu). K. Crawford (Midland). D. S. Wilson (Kilbirnie). T. L. Pritchard (Manawatu). M. Thomas (Wellington), twelfth man.
