MRS. M. A. SAMUEL

Many friends will learn with" great regret of the death of Mrs. Samuel-, of 216 Wellington Terrace, who has. been an invalid for some years. When Mrs. Samuel was able to be about the world she was one of the brightest and" most cheery people, and since her time of invalidism has been a very gallant old lady, bearing all her various ills with courage,- cheerfulness, and fortitude. . ' Only a year ago, when. Mrs. Samuel was celebrating her 94th birthday, she was remembered in all directions. The Pioneer Club, of which she had been a valued member, sent her special greetings and lovely flowers, and friendly messages came from all directions showing that her fine personality and general kindliness had been appreciated by a large, circle of j friends. Though her only relative at this end.of the world, Mrs." Johns, is ml Melbourne, Mrs. Samuel has not lack-; ed for visitors and extremely kind friends who valued her for her many charming qualities, and appreciated the fact that she kept" a vivid and inteVagent interest in world affairs. She came of an old Cornish family,-and her father was for many years a member of the New South Wales Parliament. The funeral will take - place tomorrow. ■ :
