CROWN SOLICITOR
MR. P. B. BROAD APPOINTED
It was announced this afternoon that Mr. P. B. Broad, of the head office staff, Public Trust Office, Wellington, has been appointed a Crown Solicitor in successsion to Mr. E. S. Smith, who is the new Deputy Commissioner •of Taxes.
Mr. Broad joined the head office staff of the Public.Trust Office as an assistant solicitor in 1920. He was educated at Wellington College and Victoria University College, where he took his LL.B. and LL.M. degrees. During the war Mr. Broad was on active service.
In Wellington cricket circles Mr. Broad is one who has done a great deal to help the game, along. He played cricket for the Wellington College Old Boys' Club and was a. well-
known member of the University Club's senior eleven. On the management side he has given valuable service. For many years he was a member of the management committee of the. Wellington Cricket. Association and for a long term was the chairman of the committee. He retired from office a little over twelve months ago and was succeeded by the present chairman, Mr. J. H. Phillipps. In recognition of his service to cricket Mr. Broad has been elected a life member of the Wellington Cricket Association.
