DEAR FAIRY RING
That question-loving young person, "Letterbox Elf," has just thought of another poser. "Fairiel," said he, and I counted three new freckles on his nose, "why isn't the tide tidy? It makes such a splash and litter on the beach." Can anybody answer, please? A nejj) riddle for you, my elves, or perhaps the beginning of a limerick. Who can complete it?
A sparkling sea and ivarm sunny days have coaxed many of you in for the first bathe of the season this week, lam sure. Of course, bathing is great fun, but have you learned to swim yet? If you have not, ivhy not make up your mind to learn these holidays? Then, perhaps, you will be good enough by February to take part in the beginners' race al, your school sports. '"Letterbox Elf" is training, or so he says. He is getting very good at putting his head in a basin of water and holding his breath. Last time

The moon is a lantern Which the Night holds high , To light his lonely footsteps Across the dark sky.
To light his lonely footsteps Wherever he may roam The Night has a lantern Which leads him safely home.
